Dr. WANG Jingsong, Professor, born in Hubei Province in October 1970, currently serves as Director-General of the National Satellite Meteorological Center(NSMC) and the National Centre for Space Weather(NCSW).

In 1991 and 1994, he received his bachelor’s degree and master’s degree in space physics from Peking University, respectively, and obtained his Ph.D at Chinese Academy of Sciences also in space physics. In 1999, after his postdoc research in Department of Geophysics, Peking University, he was promoted to associate professor there. He visited Max Planck Institute for Aeronomy (now known as Max Planck Institute for Solar System Research) twice as a guest scientist. Since 2005, he was transferred to China Meteorological Administration (CMA), and successively held the post of Director of the Space Weather Division of NSMC, Deputy DG of NSMC, and DG of the Department of Integrated Observations of CMA, and has been DG of NCSW since 2009. He took his current position in May 2021.

Dr. Wang’s main research fields cover ionospheric physics, space weather theory and applications, and atmospheric observation. He has published more than 130 papers (patents, monographs, etc.) and was funded by more than 10 national scientific research projects. He is the winner of several national talent support programs, and awarded the ZHAO Jiuzhang Outstanding Young and Middle-aged Science Award, the China Youth Science and Technology Award, etc..




YANG Jun was born in June 1964. He currently serves as Director of the Office of FengYun Meteorological Satellite Engineering Management. YANG was graduated in July 1985 from Dept. of Electronic Engineering of Tsinghua University, and earned his master's degree in atmospheric sounding in June 1988 at the Chinese Academy of Meteorological Sciences. After graduation, YANG began to work for the National Satellite Meteorological Center, where he used to be deputy director of the Research Institute of Satellite Meteorology, and division chief of System Development. YANG worked as deputy director-general of the National Satellite Meteorological Center from August 1999 to November 2004, as director-general of the National Satellite Meteorological Center from December 2004 to April 2021. He has been serving as deputy director-general and chief designer of the FengYun Meteorological Satellite Engineering and director of the Office of FengYun Meteorological Satellite Engineering Management since April 2021.




ZHANG Peng, male, was burn in October 1970. He joined in the CCP in 2004, now deputy director-general of NSMC, senior researcher, PhD supervisor. 1992 under-graduates from the Northwest University, physics department, optics major. 1995 master degree from Anhui Optic Precision Mechanical Research Institute of Chinese Science Academy. 1998 PhD from Atmospheric Research Institute of Chinese Science Academy. 1998-2001, post PhD in EORC/NASDA); 2001, deputy director of Satellite Meteorology Research Institute of NSMC, director of System planning Office of NSMC. 2013, deputy director-general of NSMC.




SHI Jun, male, engineer, born in September 1973 to a family of Han nationality; a communist party member since 1995. July 1996, SHI finished bachelor degree study in agricultural meteorology in the resource and environment department of China Agricultural University. July 2004, SHI got his master diploma in economics from studying labour economics in the Labor and Personnel Management of Renmin University of China. During his career in the CMA headquarter office since July 1996, SHI used to be a working secretary for the party leadership group and the director of No.2 personnel division. Since June 2018, SHI is the secretary in charge of the Party Disciplinary Committee of NSMC.




MAO Dongyan, female, was born in August 1975. MAO joined in the CCP in 2004, now deputy director-general of NSMC, bearing a senior engineer title equivalent to a research fellow. MAO finished bachelor degree study in the meteorology department of Nanjing Meteorological College in 1988, and she got master’s degree in atmospheric physics and environment in 2001 at the Chinese Academy of Meteorological Sciences. After graduation, MAO began to work for the National Meteorological Center, where she worked as deputy director of Weather Forecast department, deputy director of Typhoon and Marine Meteorological Center, deputy director and director of Strong Weather Forecast Center, and director of Operation and Science Technology Management Division. MAO took a temporary post in Henan Meteorological Administration and served as an assistant director-general of Provincial Meteorological Bureau in 2017. She worked as deputy director-general of the National Meteorological Center (National Meteorological Office) since April 2020. She served as deputy director-general of the National Satellite Meteorological Center (National Space Weather Monitoring and early warning center) since September 2021.




TANG Shihao, male, was burn in March 1971. He joined in the CCP in 2004, now deputy director-general of NSMC, senior researcher. TANG graduated from Nanjing meteorological college in 1993, and he got master’s degree in 1996 at Nanjing meteorological college in applied meteorology. In 2001, he graduated from Beijing Normal University in remote sensing and geographic information system and got PhD in physical geography. TANG engaged in postdoctoral research in the school of life sciences of Beijing Normal University from 2001 to 2003. TANG began to work for the NSMC since 2003, where he worked as deputy director and director of the Institute of satellite meteorology, director of the remote sensing application department (remote sensing application service center of CMA), and deputy chief engineer of Fengyun meteorological satellite engineering and the chief engineer of application system. TANG served as deputy director-general of the National Satellite Meteorological Center (National Space Weather Monitoring and early warning center) since September 2021.




ZHAO Xiangang, a senior engineer, is currently serving as a deputy director-general of the National Satellite Meteorological Center. After earning his Doctor's degree from the Dept. of Computer Science and Technology at Beijing University of Post and Telecommunications in 2007, ZHAO started to work for the National Satellite Meteorological Center. He used to be deputy director of operational control department, director of satellite data and resource department and director of business management department. From August 2020 to May 2022, ZHAO was deputy chief designer of FengYun 4 optical and microwave satellites' ground system. And after May 2022, he was deputy director-general of the FengYun 3 satellites' ground system. He has worked as a deputy director-general of the National Satellite Meteorological Center since June 2023.




WEI Caiying, female, was born in August 1963. WEI is one of the incumbent deputy director-generals of the National Satellite Meteorological Center, bearing a senior engineer title equivalent to a research fellow. She was graduated in 1987 from Tsinghua University Dept. of Radio Electronics. WEI received her master's degree in signal current and system in 1990 at Beijing University of Technology. In 1990, WEI was assigned to work for the National Satellite Meteorological Center. She was director of Chief Engineer Office from 2000 to 2004, and division chief of operation control from 2004 to 2009. WEI has served as a deputy director-general of the National Satellite Meteorological Center since May 2009.
